Gwent Sword Club currently operates at two venues in South-East Wales, with our fully trained coaches providing training to both experienced fencers and beginners through our programme of beginner courses.
Our Newport division runs on Monday nights at Rougemont School, Malpas Road, Newport NP20 6QB 19:00 till 21:00.
Our Chepstow division runs on Friday nights from 18:30 till 20:30 at Chepstow Leisure Centre, Welsh Street, Chepstow, NP16 5LX. (link to map)
NB: Club membership (£25) is now due for renewal. Without club membership, the 'associate member' rate is payable at club sessions and you have no voting rights at the AGM.
Please note that it is a requirement of Welsh Fencing that to be fully insured all club members should, in addition, be members of British Fencing - see www.britishfencing.com . Individual members are responsible for ensuring their BF membership is renewed on time. We are glad to say that fencing has its professional competitions and championships. It even achieved to be added as sports betting addition to many online casino sites, such as the 32Red Casino. They will offer you a great welcome gift of a $10 no deposit bonus, which you can use and place a few free bets or play some other casino game. So we invite you to become part of our club and share the dream of contesting one day in the major fencing bouts.
We are now taking names for the next beginners' class at Newport - anticipated start date January 23 - please e-mail diffordsvirginmedia [dot] com for details. Beginners are still welcome at Chepstow. E-mail Carl Difford on diffordsvirginmedia [dot] com for details. We welcome visiting fencers of all abilities (see visitor rates below).
